Mermaid card

Hiya Stampers!

Today’s card is for for two challenges. The first challenge is from Global Design Project. Here’s the theme they gave us:

GDP151_Theme_Sea

Here’s what I came up with:

37133910_294196381175005_7620842880277413888_n

I did use some retired ribbon, but I have a ton of retired products that need to be used up 😉

The next challenge is a color challenge over at SplitCoast Stampers. Since it was the 700th color challenge they gave us 5 different color combos to choose from! Here’s the color combo I chose to use:

Berry Burst
So Saffron
Pear Pizzazz

Here’s a close up:

I watercolored the mermaid and fussy cut her out and popped her up onto dimensionals.

I sponged the background diecut piece from Blended Seasons Bundle with Tranquil Tide and stamped on top of it with Old Olive.

I have been working on a sewing project lately so haven’t had much time for stamping….a crafer’s work is never done, lol 🙂

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day! ❤

GDP #149

Hiya Stampers!

Today’s card is for the challenge over at Global Design Project. They gave us a pretty color combo to use.

GDP149_Colour_Challenge

Here’s what I came up with:

38534433_257411481534757_4340757754818854912_n

Yes, I used the Blended Seasons stamp set again, lol! I can’t help it, it’s so pretty as well as #1 it’s not going to be around for very long and #2 it was already on my desk from the last time I used it 😉

Here’s another view:

38469359_1885850091494193_3193064616980643840_n

The ribbon is from a bouquet of flowers my hubby gave me and I save everything. It’s not a perfect match, but good enough to work.

I will be very sad to see this bundle suite go, if you don’t have it yet….you better hurry up! It’s only here until August 31, 2018 and it’s while supplies last!!!!

38515508_2045631985468726_5891416097441185792_n

I took a piece of water colored paper and ink washed the navy ink all over it and distressed it with splatters of ink before die-cutting it out with those gorgeous framelits from the bundle. I heat embossed the flowers onto water colored paper and yes…..I fussy cut them out, doesn’t really take that long at all.

Well, I hope you like my card, thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed Sunday 😉

Poppy Blended Christmas Card

Hey Bleeps (blog peeps)!

My card today is for two different challenges over at SplitCoast Stampers.

The first challenge we were to CASE a card from the Featured Stamper Jenny Hall’s gallery.  Click here to see her pretty card that inspired me!

Here’s how my card came out:

2

I used the same image she used from the limited-edition Blended Seasons stamp set. I changed up the colors to make it a Christmas card. My card isn’t a fancy fold card like she did, but I needed something fast since I haven’t stamped all week.  Her card is very soft and beautiful but looks intimidating to me with that awesome card shape and fun fold! 😉 She’s a really talented lady and very inspiring demonstrator. I will have to try her card shape another time, it’s very unique and eye catching!

Here’s another view of my card:

The next challenge is a color challenge:

Poppy Parade
Lemon Lime Twist
Garden Green

Here’s what I came up with:

I distressed the Whisper White Framelit diecut by sponging Garden Green ink all over it.  I then spritzed it with water and hurriedly dried it with my heat tool. I smooched it in ink and finally took a sponge dauber and added more ink to the edges.

Here’s another view:

I stamped off with Soft Sea Foam using the no line water color technique, this was my first time trying it! I fussy cut the flower image and popped it up onto some dimensionals. I used some gold sequins and gold Wink of Stella (for the flower centers) from my stash as well as some gold thread to add a little bling. I hope you like my take on these two challenges and how I merged them together.

Don’t forget that The Blended Seasons Bundle is a limited time stamp set for the month of August only! Don’t miss out, orders yours today!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed weekend ❤

Sunday Stamps Waterfront Card

Hey Bleeps (blog peeps)!

I have another card to share today. This one is for the color challenge over at Sunday Stamps. Here’s the colors they gave us to try:

SSC183

Here’s what I came up with:

1_edited

I did use a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set that had some taller trees in it, but mostly used the Waterfront trees and images. I also used some sheer ribbon from my stash as well as the pearls from the Share What You Love embellishment kit.

2_edited

The sentiment is from another SU! stamp set listed below. I sponged the sky, and also stamped full strength and stamped off here and there. I also sponged the water in the light blue then stamping over it in the darker blue.

Don’t miss out on all the deals going on with Stampin’ Up! right now. Click here to read more info on all the ways you can save money!!!! 😉

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day ❤

Two Challenges

Hiya Stampers!

For my card today I’m combining two challenges. The first one is the farm/country theme over at Global Design Project.

GDP147_Theme_Counrty Life

I don’t really have any current stamps that meet this theme, so I just used a retired stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I hope that’s still OK to enter this card in for the challenge!

37361127_10211653926734686_4036688724690468864_n_edited_edited

I’m also entering this card in the color challenge over at SplitCoast Stampers. The colors are Pineapple Punch, Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral.

37303502_10211653926574682_7632463124750139392_n_edited_edited_edited

I water colored the little chick with the challenge colors then fussy cut her out and shaped her with my bone folder and popped her up on to some dimensionals. I used some sequins from my stash as well as some retired ribbons.

Here’s another view.

I embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder onto a piece of Wood Textures DSP.

GDP #146

Hiya Stampers,

Today’s card is for the challenge over at Global Design Project! Here’s the sketch they gave us

GDP146Here’s what I came up with

36830025_1800647746679504_5704562896688644096_n

When I saw other examples of the sketch and they used flowers, I immediately knew I was going to use the new limited edition Blended Seasons Stamp Set!

The flower cluster image is a bit large, so the sample sketch layer on top had to be larger….so hope that is OK to do and still meet the requirements of the challenge. I used one of the fun shaped Framelits that comes with the bundle. It kinda reminds me of the old Top Note Die Stampin’ Up! used to sell….which I miss and love so much!!!!

Here’s a close up of the flowers, so much fun to color in!

36607443_284524585431202_8590612539702771712_n

I’m definitely not the best colorist out there…..that’s why I really like watercoloring. It’s very forgiving and I don’t try to think too much about it. I let each layer dry in between and added more color on top, but let the water do the work for me. I also colored two flower images and cut them up to place unto my card in a way that best fit the sketch. I used the retired Gold Wink of Stella for the center of each bloom, adds a touch of sparkle. Who doesn’t love sparkle, right?

Here’s another view…..

36602361_239117226815731_8753651516893560832_n

I used the Naturals White Cardstock that SU! used to sell too (it’s retired now, sorry)….I still have a TON of it! It just gives a subtle difference in the two whites to not be over done and distracting. The baker’s Twine is also retired…..I’m trying to use up what I have because I’m a hoarder, lol. Does anyone else have that problem? Surely I’m not the only one;)

Well, thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed day! ❤

Two Challenges

Hey Bleeps (blog peeps),

I combined two challenges this week for my card today. One is the color challenge over at Global Design Project

GDP145_Colour_Challenge

and the other is the sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps.

SSC182

Here’s what I came up with.

36738193_10211577121254597_6121477901847101440_n

I embossed the roses in white embossing powder onto watercolor paper. Then water colored them in with Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove inks using my Aquapainter. I stamped the sentiment in the Fresh Fig ink. Not sure if you can tell, but I embossed the background Whisper White panel at the top with a retired embossing folder called Woodgrain. The die cuts behind the roses are from the matching Thinlits from the Petal Palette stamp set.

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th celebration! It rained all day long here, so we just chilled and ate, lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed weekend! 😉

GDP #144

Hey there Stampers!

Darn it, I was too late to play along with the challenge over at Global Design Project #144.  I still had fun creating this card though even if I couldn’t submit it! The challenge was to case a card! Here it is, isn’t it lovely?

GDP144_Charlet_Mallett

Here’s my take on it:

36528571_10211545599906583_2597231075386195968_n

I love the Tea Room Suite from the new annual catalog! I love anything tea really, but the colors in this suite are gorgeous together!

36473132_10211545600506598_1281791470042349568_n

I hope you liked my take on the challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day 😉

Global Design Project #143

Hey there stampers!

I am doing another fun challenge over at Global Design Project. It’s basically do whatever you love challenge…..so, since I haven’t gotten to play with the new incolors or this stamp set yet, I decided that it fits perfectly.

GDP143_Theme_Love it

I love the colors and stamp set, so win, win….yay me!!!!!

36038392_10211499525074741_7408661918077943808_n

Now I’m not the best water-colorist out there, I just have fun and try not to over think it. I fussy-cut the image cause I colored outside the lines, lol 😉

36223757_10211499524754733_8407519831925981184_n

While making cards lately, I realized that most all my SU! ribbons are retired. So I used some from my stash (this particular ribbon came from flowers my hubby got for me….anyone else save stuff like that to reuse in your crafts?).

I am doing a June 2018 Paper Pumpkin give away right now, so please check it out. Good luck! Well, thank you so much for stopping by and hope you have a blessed day 😉

Watercolor Splash Background Color Challenge

Hiya!

I am going to try my hand at challenges again, it’s been a long time……so bear with me! I searched around at blog hops and challenges and came across this one at Global Design Project #141 .

GDP141_Colour_Challenge

Their color challenge is using Real Red, Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie. You may not be able to tell, but yes…..I did use all three colors on the watercolor splashing. I kept messing with it, so they started blending too much…..hopefully it’s not my first challenge fail, lol!!!!

watermarked_card2

I used white embossing powder for the rose image from Petal Palette stamp set. It was fun using my Aqua Painter to make all the splashes of color for the background! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day! 😉
