Purple Unicorn

Hiya Stampers!

Today’s card is for the challenge over at SplitCoast Stampers. This is my last card on the guest design team, I’ve had so much fun!!!!

Here’s the cute color combo they gave us for inspiration:

Here’s what I came up with:

The main focus is the little purple unicorn from the cute Stampin’ Up! stamp set. I did a simple color wash for the background on White Shimmer paper, it holds up well to a little water. I flicked ink all over for a splattering look too. I then stamped random stars in the darker blue, as well as the sentiment to tie in the colors.

I had a lot of fun with this card. I will admit to using several retired items and stuff from my stash that’s no longer available, sorry. Gotta use up some stuff from time to time. I love it and have it so gotta force myself to not be a crafting hoarder, lol 😉

I stamped the unicorn in purple ink on white shimmer paper as it’s a little thicker, so you can use a little bit of water with it. Then I did a water wash over the unicorn to move the ink around. I then restamped over it after it dried completely in the same purple ink to define the lines again. I fussy cut the unicorn out and popped it up. After everything was put together, I splattered shimmer paint all over it since the dessert option this week is bling.

Trying to take pics of this card wasn’t easy, so that’s why there’s a few more photos than I usually post.
