Birthdays are the Best Color Challenge

Hiya Stampers!

I hope you are having a great day! Today’s card is for the color challenge over at SplitCoast Stampers. I’m honored to be a guest designer for the month of July! Here’s the color combo that they gave us to play with:

Here’s what I came up with:

The new 2019-2021 Incolors from Stampin’ Up! are kinda muted and remind me of vintage/retro colors. I love the Rococo Rose, so I was happy that was one of the colors!

The ribbon I chose to use is a retired ribbon from SU! I still thought that it matched quite nicely. It’s a wide ribbon so I decided to let it be the star by tying it in the middle. I love this stamp set and even though it’s mostly covered up by the gorgeous ribbon, it’s still peeking through enough to show off!

I added the tag as an afterthought, it just needed something…..so I punched it out and tied it with the vanilla Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. It’s retired now, but they have the white in the new catalog as it carried over, YAY! Even though it looks white, it is vanilla, lol 😉

The font of this stamp set is really lovely and paired with the brown ink and other colors reminded me of my vintage/shabby chic days of cardmaking! Which is still my favorite style to be honest. I used to sponge everything to give it a vintage feel, but now I have found it’s not necessary to still achieve this kinda look. To me this card still has that shabby chic/vintage feel to it.

Well, that’s all for today! I hope you like my card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed evening ❤

A card for my Bubba

Hey Bleeps (blog peeps)!

I have two cards to share today! My baby brother’s birthday is coming up so I made him a card. I got the idea from this card here on Pinterest! Here’s my take on it:

I really like how it came together. Here’s a close up look:

I always love doing a sepia style card with monochromatic brown tones for a masculine or even a vintage feel….depends on what kinda card you are doing. I think it really looks good with this particular stamp set!

My little brother came for a visit in our new home for July 4th! It was really good to see him and his sweet little family. His wife is pregnant again, which will make him the father of three! YAY!

While they were visiting, my nephew accidentally left his retainer here. He had been swimming and put it on the patio table wrapped up in a napkin! So, after my brother told me he went through all their stuff and we couldn’t find it anywhere around the pool, we decided it must’ve accidentally got thrown away. So, we dug through the top two trash bags and yelp, we found it, LOL! So, I will be mailing it off tomorrow for him, hence the second card I made is for my nephew! Good lesson to be learned, hopefully, lol 😉

So, here’s the cute little card I made him celebrating the fact that we found it:

I used the retired So Hoppy Together stamp set from this past Saleabration. I thought it would be fun to add the sequins in a way that made it look like the little froggie was juggling.

I never did use this cute stamp set at all during Salebration and it’s so cute, so I’m glad it saw some ink! I did actually use several things on the froggie card that are from this past Saleabration and no longer available.

I hope you like my cards……. and please keep praying for my other nephew Aaron. He is healing up great after a horrific car accident where he actually died during careflight and was brought back to life. He’s a walking miracle and we thank the Lord that he is still with us, he has a long road still of lots of recovery and surgeries, so please keep lifting him up. The power of prayer is very strong!

Well, thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed evening ❤

Birdie Card

Hiya Stampers!

Today’s card is a super simple stampin’ card. Stampin’ Up! is doing a #simplestamping challenge and this month’s theme is Valenetine’s Day.

I am also including this in another challenge. Over at Global Design Project they gave us this image to CASE:

I used the same stamp set as she did:

I used two stamp sets for my card with one layer. Here’s another view:

As you can see, this card is really simple….just stamping! I stamped off on the branches a couple of times here and there, but that’s it, easy peasy! 😉

Well, thank you so much for stopping by, have a very blessed week ahead ❤
