GDP #146

Hiya Stampers,

Today’s card is for the challenge over at Global Design Project! Here’s the sketch they gave us

GDP146Here’s what I came up with

36830025_1800647746679504_5704562896688644096_n

When I saw other examples of the sketch and they used flowers, I immediately knew I was going to use the new limited edition Blended Seasons Stamp Set!

The flower cluster image is a bit large, so the sample sketch layer on top had to be larger….so hope that is OK to do and still meet the requirements of the challenge. I used one of the fun shaped Framelits that comes with the bundle. It kinda reminds me of the old Top Note Die Stampin’ Up! used to sell….which I miss and love so much!!!!

Here’s a close up of the flowers, so much fun to color in!

I’m definitely not the best colorist out there…..that’s why I really like watercoloring. It’s very forgiving and I don’t try to think too much about it. I let each layer dry in between and added more color on top, but let the water do the work for me. I also colored two flower images and cut them up to place unto my card in a way that best fit the sketch. I used the retired Gold Wink of Stella for the center of each bloom, adds a touch of sparkle. Who doesn’t love sparkle, right?

Here’s another view…..

I used the Naturals White Cardstock that SU! used to sell too (it’s retired now, sorry)….I still have a TON of it! It just gives a subtle difference in the two whites to not be over done and distracting. The baker’s Twine is also retired…..I’m trying to use up what I have because I’m a hoarder, lol. Does anyone else have that problem? Surely I’m not the only one;)

Well, thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed day! ❤

Two Splitcoast Stampers Challenges

Hiya Stampers,

This is my very first SplitCoast Stampers challenge card. After I was tipped off that this actually can go into two challeges over at SCS! I haven’t even posted on there in forever, lol. It’s a really fun color combo! Go check it out and play along with CC695!!!!!

Powder Pink
Balmy Blue
Highland Heather

cc695_5837b4bea0076b6ce32fbf5e7fc1bdf1b26b1e2cSo, it fits in the Thursday Challenge called Ways To Use It! Today is the birthday of Henry David Thoreau. National Simplicity Day is held in honor of him, as he believed in living simply. The task for this challenge is then to find a way to use the clean and simple style on your project. Go check it out and play along!

Here’s my card I submitted using the Jar of Love stamp set which I haven’t used in awhile.  I kept the rest of the card pretty simple by just adding some sequins I had in my stash.

Here’s a view of the sparkle from the Shimmer Pen, I hope you can see it. I curled the flowers with my bone folder and added lots of dimensionals! I also used he Waterfront stamp set for the shading under the jar.

Well, thank you so much for stopping by! Have a blessed day 😉

Two Challenges

Hey Bleeps (blog peeps),

I combined two challenges this week for my card today. One is the color challenge over at Global Design Project

GDP145_Colour_Challenge

and the other is the sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps.

SSC182

Here’s what I came up with.

36738193_10211577121254597_6121477901847101440_n

I embossed the roses in white embossing powder onto watercolor paper. Then water colored them in with Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove inks using my Aquapainter. I stamped the sentiment in the Fresh Fig ink. Not sure if you can tell, but I embossed the background Whisper White panel at the top with a retired embossing folder called Woodgrain. The die cuts behind the roses are from the matching Thinlits from the Petal Palette stamp set.

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th celebration! It rained all day long here, so we just chilled and ate, lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed weekend! 😉

GDP #144

Hey there Stampers!

Darn it, I was too late to play along with the challenge over at Global Design Project #144.  I still had fun creating this card though even if I couldn’t submit it! The challenge was to case a card! Here it is, isn’t it lovely?

Here’s my take on it:

I love the Tea Room Suite from the new annual catalog! I love anything tea really, but the colors in this suite are gorgeous together!

I hope you liked my take on the challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day 😉

Global Design Project #143

Hey there stampers!

I am doing another fun challenge over at Global Design Project. It’s basically do whatever you love challenge…..so, since I haven’t gotten to play with the new incolors or this stamp set yet, I decided that it fits perfectly.

GDP143_Theme_Love it

I love the colors and stamp set, so win, win….yay me!!!!!

36038392_10211499525074741_7408661918077943808_n

Now I’m not the best water-colorist out there, I just have fun and try not to over think it. I fussy-cut the image cause I colored outside the lines, lol 😉

36223757_10211499524754733_8407519831925981184_n

While making cards lately, I realized that most all my SU! ribbons are retired. So I used some from my stash (this particular ribbon came from flowers my hubby got for me….anyone else save stuff like that to reuse in your crafts?).

I am doing a June 2018 Paper Pumpkin give away right now, so please check it out. Good luck! Well, thank you so much for stopping by and hope you have a blessed day 😉

Color Challenge

Hiya Stampers!

I am participating in a fun color challenge over at Sunday Stamps!

SSC181

I love the color combo here! I used Lemon Lime Twist, Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron on Whisper White Cardstock. This is a basic simple stamping on the cardstock, nothing too fancy.

35518931_1838885079503992_2077320233323855872_n

This is an oldie but goodie retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “Oh Hello”.  I haven’t used it in a long time and I really do love it!

35514098_1838885022837331_2618715536887906304_n

I also used some retired bakers twine that matched pretty good.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day 😉

Sketch Challenge

Hey Bleeps! (blog peeps)

I am doing another challenge, this time it’s a fun sketch! Come and play along with Global Design Project 142!

gdp142

I just stamped the dots at the bottom as the layer instead of using paper. I love the Share What You Love paper, so I wanted that to be the star of this card!

35493200_1837889562936877_6965695509612724224_n

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto basic black cardstock. I had cut out the butterfly and attached it to the oval a couple of weeks ago. So when I saw this sketch, I thought it would be a great way to use it and replace the circle shape.  I kept the rest of the card pretty simple due to the busy DSP.

35520918_1837889512936882_3588110950042959872_n

I hope you like it. Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Father’s Day to all the hard workin’ daddy-o’s out there! Blessings 😉

Watercolor Splash Background Color Challenge

Hiya!

I am going to try my hand at challenges again, it’s been a long time……so bear with me! I searched around at blog hops and challenges and came across this one at Global Design Project #141 .

GDP141_Colour_Challenge

Their color challenge is using Real Red, Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie. You may not be able to tell, but yes…..I did use all three colors on the watercolor splashing. I kept messing with it, so they started blending too much…..hopefully it’s not my first challenge fail, lol!!!!

watermarked_card2

I used white embossing powder for the rose image from Petal Palette stamp set. It was fun using my Aqua Painter to make all the splashes of color for the background! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day! 😉
